VLACO, John B. 66, of Fairhaven, formerly of Easton, died peacefully, August 2, 2013 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was the husband of 22 years of Maureen E. (Ball) Vlaco.

John was born in Sri Lanka, son of the late Raymond and Katherine (Brophy) Vlaco. He was raised in Bombay, India (now Mumbai) and Italy. He settled in the United States after his graduation from Stonehill College. John, a successful General Contractor and Real Estate Developer, founded Brophy & Phillips Co., Inc. in Brockton. For over 40 years he ran his company and was also a longtime board member and supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton. John was a generous man who traveled the world extensively with his wife; was an avid boater and pretend fisherman. In addition to his wife Maureen, he is survived by a son Peter and his wife Cecilia Roddy of Brookline; a brother Kevin Vlaco and his wife Carol of Middleboro and several nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St (Rte 123) BROCKTON, Tues. 4-8 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am for a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
