Obituary: Janet L. (Conners) Lang

LOWELL — Janet L. (Conners) Lang, 68, a retired nurse and resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died Sunday morning, May 22, 2016, at home surrounded by her family, after a long battle with ALS. She was the wife of Roger J. Lang, III to whom she was married for 44 years.

Born in Lowell, December 16, 1947, Janet was the daughter of the late Philip E. Conners and the late Janet E. (Gagnon) Conners. She was raised in the Highlands section of Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School in 1965. She followed in her mother’s footsteps and graduated from St. Joseph’s Nursing School in 1968. Before retiring from Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, Janet was a registered nurse and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. John’s Hospital, Palm Manor Nursing Home, Harvard Vanguard in Chelmsford, and Life Care Centers of Billerica.

Janet was a long-time communicant of St. Margaret’s Parish in the Highlands section of Lowell where she raised her family before moving to Belvidere. She enjoyed spending time with her family, hosting them at the holidays, and spoiling her grandchildren. Janet always put others before herself. Caring and thoughtful and kind, she will be remembered for her devotion to her loved ones. The strength she showed every day was indicative of her spirit, and for her strength her family is eternally grateful.

Janet is survived by her husband, Roger J. Lang, III and her three children, Roger J. (Jay) Lang, IV and his wife, Lori A. Lang of Lowell, Jonathan P. Lang and his wife, Christina C. Lang of Milton, MA, and Jill R. Lang of Lowell; five grandchildren, Connor, Timothy and Aidan Lang of Lowell and Sophia and Jackson Lang of Milton, MA.

Janet is also survived by two brothers and a sister, Dennis G. and Lee Ann Conners of Lowell, Deborah C. and Thomas J. Thornton of Lowell, and James M. and Maureen Conners of Wells, ME; as well as several nieces and nephews.
