Obituary: Edward J. Pane

BEDFORD – Edward J. Pane, 47, of Bedford, and a former longtime resident of Merrimack, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

He was born in Seaford, N.Y., on May 19, 1967, a son of the late Robert L. Pane Sr., who died in 1992, and Francis (Kniat) Frances, who died in 2011.

Ed was a 1985 graduate of Merrimack High School and graduated from the N.H. Police Academy in 1996. He was a sergeant for the Merrimack Police Department.

He loved the outdoors, which included hunting, fishing, four wheeling and softball.

Ed had a great love for the P.D. family and his friends, who were fantastic and never left his side through this entire battle. His family is very appreciative for all of the help and support that was given to him.

Members of his family include his wife, Nancy (Miller) Pane of Bedford; a daughter, Jessica Couture of Dracut, Mass.; two grandchildren, Kayla Duhamel and Kori Cloutier; a brother, Robert L. Pane Jr. of Pittsfield, N.Y.; a sister, Elizabeth A. Lorenz of Manchester; and numerous nieces and nephews..

SERVICES: Calling hours will be in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. There is no funeral service.
