RAYNHAM – Carolyn M. Barboza, 66, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with ALS.

Born Aug. 3, 1949 in Attleboro, she was a daughter of Edna (Auty) Goodman-Gucwa of Plainville and the late William F. Goodman.

Carolyn grew up in Plainville and was a 1967 graduate of King Philip High School. She later earned an associate degree from Dean College in Franklin and a bachelor of science degree from Bridgewater State University. She’s been a resident of Raynham for over 40 years.
Carolyn worked as a bartender at Raynham-Taunton Greyhound Park for 30 years before retiring due to disability in 2014.

She loved the beaches, especially on Cape Cod and Florida, and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox. Above all, she cherished times spent raising her treasured children and time spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children: Jonathan Barboza and wife Alyson of Plainville, Brian Barboza of South Boston, and Elizabeth Barboza of Raynham; three grandsons: William, Charlie, and Domenic; her dear friends Ellen Renner of Plainville and the late John Renner; a good friend Raymond Payne of Canton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove St., North Attleboro.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 26 at noon at Grace Episcopal Church, 104 North Washington St., North Attleboro, followed by burial in Plainville Cemetery.
