Published in The Republican July 23, 2016

Albert J. Giordano, Jr. died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 19. Albert was born February 6, 1948, beloved son of the late Albert and Teresa Giordano. He grew up in Bergenfield, New Jersey (Bergenfield HS ’66). He received his Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Southern Connecticut State College in 1970. While enjoying life on Crumhorn Mountain in upstate New York, he met and married Willa (Goodman) Giordano, his loving wife of 41 years. They settled in Monson in 1982, comfortable in the home that Albert built. Albert was a lifelong master carpenter, who thrived on a job well done. He returned to teaching high school in 1999, retiring from teaching and coaching football and baseball in 2009. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement building projects, golf with his dear friends, hunting, fishing and travel.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his cherished brother Ralph Armand Giordano and his wife Kathy of Temple Terrace, FL; his brother-in-law John Goodman and his wife E. Louise of Soda Spring, CA; his treasured nieces and nephews Angela (Giordano) Nickell and her husband John, Craig Giordano, Kirsten (Goodman) Kerr and her husband Charles, Tyra Goodman and her husband Robert Jackson, and Mark Gadi Levine; his wonderful great nieces and nephew Fletcher and Rebecca Kerr, and Sivan, Gabriella and Noa Levine.

Albert felt fortunate to have enjoyed the companionship of many close friends throughout his life. He loved sharing laughter and a good story. “We had a great run.” Special thanks are gratefully extended to BayState VNA, Palliative Care and Hospice.
