Kevin P. O’Brien of Boston, formerly of Acton, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023 after living with Bulbar ALS for two years. He is survived by his wife Judith and their three children: Emily, Audrey, and Matthew.

Kevin was born in New Jersey. He graduated from Northeastern University and received an MBA from Bentley University. Kevin was a Chief Financial Officer and Certified Public Accountant and never lost his love for numbers and statistics. His work in the biotech industry helped him to be a passionate advocate for himself and ALS as a whole as he navigated his diagnosis.

An active member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, he loved to express his faith by singing in the choir. Music played a prominent role in all areas of his life, and was always ready to connect with friends and family over the latest hits and all the classics. Kevin was also a passionate sports fan; he enjoyed coaching his children in youth basketball and baseball, and he loved working on his golf game. He was a devoted fan of the Boston Celtics, the New York Yankees, and Notre Dame football.

Kevin was predeceased by Raymond and Barbara (father and mother), Raymond (brother), and Margaret (sister). He is survived by his siblings Terry, Barbara, Jerry, Dennis, Linda, and their families.

Calling hours will be held at Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue, Rt. 111, Acton on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 5-7pm. Funeral mass to be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, 89 Arlington Street, Acton, MA on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11 am. Private burial to follow at a later date.
