Robert Shelton Lonkart, of Yarmouth Port, passed away on July 18, 2022 at Cape Cod Hospital. He was 79 years old.

Born in Camden, NJ, the son of the late Robert Lewis Lonkart and Carlin (Wentzell) Lonkart, he earned his BS degree in Accounting from Rutgers University. Bob served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966. Along with his loving wife of 55 years, Georgia Faith (Balles) Lonkart, they raised their children in Rhode Island eventually migrating to Cape Cod. He had a successful and prosperous career in business accounting within both manufacturing and retail sectors, launching his career as a cost accountant and rising to the position of chief financial officer. In his retirement, Bob was a dedicated driver serving adults with disabilities throughout Cape Cod. He was a faithful member and past treasurer of West Parish of Barnstable, U.C.C., and treasurer for the 1717 Meeting House Foundation. Bob was a huge dog lover, whose interests included playing golf, being a baseball fan, and enjoying a donut (or two) followed by a good hot cup of coffee.

In addition to Georgia, he is survived by his children, Kevin Lonkart and his fiancé Kelly Taylor of Orleans and Scott Lonkart and his wife Marisa Lonkart of Narragansett, RI. He was the cherished grandfather of Olivia Lonkart (18) Virginia Tech, and Ryan Lonkart (20) Northeastern University.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at 4:00 PM in the West Parish of Barnstable, 2049 Meetinghouse Way, West Barnstable.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Compassionate Care of ALS (ccals.org) of Falmouth.
