On Wednesday 8/11/2021, Dorothy Theresa Devereaux (Desmarais), 60 of Bedford (formerly of Somerville and Saugus), loving wife, mother and Grammie passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at Mass General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Dottie was born on September 20th, 1960. Dottie and her husband Arthur Devereaux were about to celebrate their 38th year of marriage. Artie and Dottie started as high school sweethearts and grew to be a beautiful example of devotion, commitment and family. Dottie was a lover of relaxing by the lake, spending time with her family and friends, and if her jigsaw puzzle didn’t have at least one thousand pieces, she wasn’t interested. She had an incredibly generous spirit, and was always there to listen and give sincere advice with genuine kindness.
Dottie raised two strong daughters, Lauren Devereaux and Leah Devereaux. Their families also include Lauren’s husband Edward Proctor, and Leah’s husband Richard Razumny, parents to her treasured grandchildren Arthur and Maeve Razumny. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, Anna (Gangi) and Oze Desmarais, and her sister Linda Desmarais. She is survived by her sister Diana “Dee” Roberts, brother Robert Desmarais and his wife Terry, and sister June McCaull. She was a loving and devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews, Shannon and her husband Tom, Andrea, Amanda and her husband Austin, Nikole, Clayton, Cody, Cora, Ryan and Paige as well as many in-laws whom she cared very deeply for.
Please join Dottie’s family in a celebration of her life on Monday, August 16th from 3pm-7pm at Endicott Park. 57 Forest Street, Danvers, MA 01923. We kindly request that current CDC COVID-19 guidelines are followed by all in attendance.
