Kevin Dunbar Moodie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and caregivers on February 6, 2020. He was born on October 7, 1942 to the late Major General Graham Dunbar Moodie and Sheila (Gow) Moodie in Cape Town, South Africa. He spent a few years of his youth on a military base located on Robben Island. He attended University of Cape Town for two years before emigrating to the United States in 1963. He was very proud of becoming a United States Citizen on February 17, 1976. After coming to the United States, Kevin attended Oklahoma State University where he was in the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Degree in 1965. After graduation, he worked in Bay City, Texas for the Celanese Corporation for two years. His father was then stationed in Germany, and he joined his family there for one year and learned to speak the language. When he left Germany, he moved to Houston where he worked part time and also attended the University of Houston, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering in 1968. He married Rosemary Ulken in 1969, and they spent a year in Charleston, West Virginia while Kevin worked for Union Carbide. He was transferred back to Houston, Texas for one year where his son, Geoffrey, was born. He was then transferred again to New Jersey where they spent 34 years, and his daughter, Jennifer, was born. Kevin was the Production Safety Engineering Manager for Union Carbide, and also attended night school at Rutger’s University. In May 1986, he earned a Master’s Degree in Economics. Kevin retired from Union Carbide in 1998 and started consulting for Rohm and Haas Company while commuting to Philadelphia. In 2005, he and Rosemary moved to New Hampshire to be closer to their children. Kevin started consulting with Dow Chemical in New Jersey and continued his work in New Hampshire until August 2017.
Kevin was a very gentle, caring person who enjoyed gardening, but mostly projects around the house. He loved spending time with the children and their various activities and was always available to help. He will be cherished, loved and missed forever by his wife, Rosemary and children, Geoffrey Dunbar Moodie and Jennifer Dunbar Moodie. Also his sister-in-law Martha Ulken and John Atwood. His brother Thomas Dunbar Moodie and wife Claire, his brother John Dunbar Moodie and wife Miranda, and his sister Jennifer Dunbar Anderson and husband Sandy as well. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, cousins, and by the many colleagues and friends Kevin made along his life’s path. Last and not least, his faithful and caring caregivers who helped him and the family through his life’s final chapter.

SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 130 Spit Brook Road in Nashua on April 18, 2020, please check back for time.
