MERRIMAC — Chester Sawicki, loving husband of 34 years of Kathryn J. (O’Hearn) Sawicki and longtime Merrimac resident, died unexpectedly at his home Friday evening, October 14, 2016, just three days short of his 63rd birthday.
Chet was born in Somerville, October 17, 1953 to Chester and Mary Sawicki, growing up in Tewksbury and graduating in 1971. There was nothing more he enjoyed than taking his dog Rory for a long walk, having a beer out by his shed, and blasting his music until the day he died. He loved and worked hard for the Building Wreckers Union Local 1421. Chet was a master craftsman who built his beautiful home from the ground up.
He was great at fishing, hunting, growing tomatoes, cooking the best bacon and eggs, making anyone laugh, and accomplishing anything through strength and sheer stubbornness.
In addition to his wife, Kathryn and his mother, Mary, he leaves behind three daughters, Madison, Caleigh and Michaela; three siblings, Cheryl Emery and husband John, Michael Sawicki and wife Peggy, and Mary Conroy and husband Brian, along with extended family members and many dear friends. He loved them all immensely and was loved by them in return.
We’ll all miss him. He asks that you stop by and re-tell the stories he can no longer tell.
