James E. Kellett II, 61, of Mendon, MA died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with ALS also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He was the husband of Janet M. (Consigli) Kellett. Born in Milford, MA , he was the son of the late James E. and Rachel A. (Gubana) Kellett.

Jim attended Cardinal Cushing Academy and then went on to graduate from Milford High School, Class of 1969. He was also a graduate of New England Institute for Applied Sciences, Class of 1972. He was a member of the Milford Chamber of Commerce and the Milford Rotary Club for many years and had served as Past President. Jim was the owner and operator of the James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Homes in Milford, MA and Blackstone, MA for over 40 years. He loved his work and helping people in their time of need. To honor his commitment to Funeral Service, the Kellett Family will continue to honor his and his father’s legacy through the James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Homes.  His greatest love was for his family and his close friends. He also enjoyed traveling, dining out, cooking and of course The New England Patriots.

Besides his wife, Janet, Jim is survived by one son: James E. Kellett III  of Mendon, MA; two daughters: LaurenMarie Kellett and her fiancé Derek Cormier of Milford, MA; Kendra R. Kellett and her fiancé Brandon Starkus of Oxford, MA; one sister: Rachel A. Stewart of Mendon, MA; two nieces: Dawn Roche and her husband Marty of Bellingham, MA; Wendy Stewart Ramaci of Mendon, MA; two great nephews; Matthew Stewart and Aaron Larouco of Mendon, MA; one great niece: Zoe Stewart Ramaci of Mendon, MA.; a very dear friend, Melanie Eugster; and his three dogs; Bailey, Austin and Logan.

Jim’s funeral will be held at 9:00 am Monday, January 7, 2013 from the James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Home, 21 West St., Milford, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Winter St., Milford, MA. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery, Hopedale, MA. Calling hours are Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 pm.
