SALVI, Julio A. New Castle, NH – Julio A. Salvi, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on his 82nd Birthday, October 2, 2025, at Mass General in Boston, following a courageous battle with ALS. For 14 years, he was the beloved husband of Janet M. Rowe.
He was born in Somerville, MA, on October 2, 1943, son of the late Lawrence & Albertina (Labo) Salvi. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1970. Prior to his retirement, he worked in carpeting and flooring for many years. He was also a former firefighter, having served with the Somerville, MA Volunteer FD, and was also a Volunteer Fire Captain in Texas. He was a longtime member of the Boston Sparks Association. Julio enjoyed politics, target practice, and classic cars including his beloved 1964 Chevy Impala. He was also a Deacon and Elder with a former Assembly of God in Lynn, MA.
He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael Salvi of Litchfield, NH, Douglas & Kathryn Salvi of TX, Anthony & Joanna Salvi of Merrimack, NH; two stepsons and their wives, Anthony & Christine Gianotti of Rochester, NH, Michael & Tanya Gianotti of Seattle, WA; 11 grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Joseph, David, Nathan, Meredith, Joseph, Alisa, Isabella, Sydney and Sam; siblings, Clement Salvi and his wife Sandy Seabrook, his twin-sister, Mary Murphy, Thomas Salvi and Judy Morneault; also many nieces, nephews & cousins. He was brother of the late Lawrence Salvi.
SERVICES – Relatives & Friends are invited to his Graveside Service on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at 11:00 am, at the Oceanside Cemetery, Wentworth Road and Tabbutt Memorial Way, New Castle, NH. Arrangements in care of the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home – Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., PORTSMOUTH, NH.
