It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of David Joseph Calderone Sr, who passed away peacefully at home on April 30th at the age of 60.
Born on August 7, 1964, the son of August and Sharon Calderone. David was the baby of 7 children. David was enamored with his wife, Barbara, and the two shared over 40 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Sharon (Matt) and David Jr (Veronica) and a proud Nonno to Fiona, Orion, Ivy, and Oliver, who brought endless joy and happiness to his life.
David was the dear brother to Anne (Ron) Fenske, the late Wilma Calderone, Tony (Lois), Harry, Sharon (Rick) Busenbark, and Dorothy (Matt) Bentel. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Sharon, sister Wilma, and granddaughter Ivy. David was the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, a dedicated godfather and a friend to many.
Beyond his deep dedication to his family, David had a successful career with ComEd for 37 years. Upon retirement, he could be found by Barb’s side at their trailer in Seneca. The couple relished in sharing their “home away from home” with both children and grandchildren. David was often a man of few words, but you could always count on him for a hearty laugh or a friendly debate. His wit, candor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
