BILLINGS, Sharon (Dale) Of Natick, formerly of Wellesley, passed away surrounded by love on February 2, 2024, at age 74, after a courageous battle with ALS. Known for her kindness and many contributions to her community, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her family asks that Sharon be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.

Born to Evelyn & John Dale on November 17, 1949, in Wellesley, MA. Sharon grew up with 5 loving sisters. After graduating from Wellesley High School in 1967, she worked in insurance for many years as well as for Brown Publishing Company. After marrying Frank Billings in 1986, they raised their children in Natick. Their household was always one filled with laughing groups of children celebrating holidays and having playdates and parties. Sharon’s love of baking often had their kitchen smelling of chocolate chip cookies from her cookie company that she ran for many years and subsequently, with different treats she would bake for neighbors, friends and groups within her community. When she wasn’t baking or entertaining children, Sharon could be found in the stands of her kids’ many different sports games and eventually cheering on her grandchildren from the sidelines of sports and in the audience of performances. Later in life, Sharon found enjoyment working in a variety of different retail positions, ranging from JC Penny to Donelan’s supermarket and many in between, where she was always making new friends and loved connecting with anyone who crossed her path. Sharon was passionate about her Catholic faith and cherished attending Mass, where she could often be heard singing hymns loudly. Her beautiful singing voice lives on through her granddaughter, Haley. Sharon took so much pride and joy in watching Haley perform and sing as often as she could.

In addition to her husband, Frank; Sharon is survived by her children, Eric Bjork, Nicholas Billings, Mary Billings Pierce & her husband, Shawn and Christine Billings; along with her grandchildren, Nicholas, Gianna, Haley, Ashlynn, Greyson, Georgia, Gwen and Evelyn. She also leaves behind her sisters, Judy Ferretti, Mary Donahue, Sandy Poitras and her husband, Len, Pam Gordon and her husband, Bruce; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Sharon was predeceased by her parents; and her sister, Patricia McArdle.

Visiting Hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt.16), WELLESLEY, on Thursday, February 8, from 4 to 7pm. Her Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday, February 9, at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Natick, at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sharon’s honor to Compassionate Care ALS at CCALS.org Online guestbook, at gfdoherty.com George F.
