Victor J. “Vic” Enright, Jr., 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Urbanus) Enright, with whom he shared 64 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Boston on August 11, 1937, he was a son of the late Margaret and Victor J. Enright, Sr. Vic was raised in the Hough’s Neck section of Quincy. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and did four years of service. After completing his military service, he settled in Marshfield.
Vic and his wife, Anna, were married in January 1959. He found employment in the Fence Industry, which sent him and his family to Cape Cod in 1961 where they settled in West Yarmouth. After many years in the fence industry, he was able to purchase his own fence business, Eagle Fence Company in Falmouth. Vic and his son V.J. spent many years building a family business.
Vic loved playing tennis and enjoyed attending the tournaments around New England. He was a big fan of Yarmouth Youth Hockey and loved watching Dennis/Yarmouth High School Hockey in the 1970s.
He loved being on the ocean. Vic spent many years sailing and fishing in Lewis Bay and on Nantucket Sound. In his later years, he and his wife enjoyed traveling by way of cruise ships. They loved visiting the countries around the Caribbean, the Baltic and the Mediterranean seas. Vic especially loved exploring and cruising Alaska.
He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife, Anna; his three children: Theresa and her husband Brian Hughes, Linda and her husband Glenn Dumont, V.J. and his wife Susan; seven Grandchildren; and many Great Grandchildren that will always remember I22969584D. Vic’s sense of humor and quick wit will also be missed by his many close friends, which he held close to his heart.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, September 26th from 3 to 7 p.m. at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 27th at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Pine St., Centerville.
