Kathleen Margaret McCarron, 39, departed this life on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at her home in Plympton, MA due to complications from ALS.
She was born in Exeter, NH in 1982, spending her early childhood there until moving to Lawrenceville, GA with her family. Kathleen attended Brookwood High School and graduated in 2001. She then became a proud UD Flyer, attended the University of Dayton (OH), and completed her undergraduate degree in Sociology in 2005.
Kathleen moved to Colorado – first Denver, and then later to Salida – where she truly thrived in personal and professional endeavors. She adopted Macy, her loyal rescue dog, and the two have been inseparable ever since. She enjoyed life to the fullest, whether through music, cuisine, or in her many travels around the world. Hiking, cycling, yoga, skiing, beach gatherings, and camping were among her many passions. Kathleen lived intentionally and with true devotion to her family and friends – always seeking out the next great shared adventure.
Returning to Massachusetts in 2018 to focus on her care at home, she received continuous support from her mother and father, devoted caregivers, and Team Kathleen – her amazing extended support network. She took great joy in the countless visits from friends and family over the years.
Kathleen is survived by her parents, William and Maureen McCarron, and brothers Mark (Claudette), Michael (Elena), and Kevin (Jessica). Kathleen is the adored aunt to Ana, Kate, Liam, Finnegan, Lillian, and Joseph McCarron – and beloved niece and cousin to dozens of Carey and Kenney family members.
A Mass of Remembrance is planned for March 19, 2022 at 1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Plymouth, MA, with a celebration of life to follow in Plympton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Kathleen to Compassionate Care ALS, ccals.org/donate.
