Joseph A. Lydon, 66, died at home, Tuesday, June 7, following a courageous battle with ALS. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen (Coyle) Lydon, two daughters, Jill Lydon, of Jamaica Plain, and Sarah Lydon, of Uxbridge; siblings, James Lydon (Georgiann) of Burlington, the late Michael Lydon (Deirdre) of West Roxbury, John Lydon (Helena) of Natick, Maureen Clampet (William) of White Plains, NY, Nancy Sullivan of West Roxbury, Charles Lydon (Patricia) of Brighton, Margaret Lydon of West Roxbury, Kevin Lydon (Cordelia) of Wayland, Eileen Spall (Michael) of Falmouth, Catherine Troy of Millis, Sheila Gonzalez (Eugenio) of West Roxbury, Patricia Soule (Peter) of Walpole, Teresa Lewis (Joseph) of Walpole, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lydon was born in Boston, February 19, 1956, the son of James and Mary (Fenton) Lydon. He grew up in Brighton and graduated from Saint Columbkille High School and lived in Uxbridge for 36 years.
A graduate of Wentworth and Northeastern Universities, Joseph was a computer technician for many years at General Electric, now Baker Hughes, in Billerica.
Joe was a devout and active member of Good Shepherd Church in Linwood. He was happiest when he was singing, whether it be to Elvis or the Golden Oldies. Joe was a dedicated runner and a sports enthusiast. He loved spending time with his family and friends on Dowses Beach down the Cape.
A Funeral Mass for Joe will be held at 11am, Friday, June 10, in Good Shepherd Church, Church Street, Linwood, followed by burial in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Uxbridge. There are no Calling Hours.
