laistow, NH – On October 27, 2020, we lost Hugo Barreto, resident of Plaistow, NH, and Fort Myers, FL. He passed away at home surrounded by family following a courageous 5-year battle with ALS. Hugo was husband, father, and friend.

Your body may be gone but your spirit will live. At gatherings we’ll remember your hospitality and wit; we’ll remember your teachings, your value of experiences, knowledge and love. We’ll live full, travel broad and read deep.

Pass the pearly white gates someday, our stories of Florida await. We’ll meet you and join you at an F1 race. We’ll chose you to be our husband, father, and friend over and over again.

Hugo is survived by his adored wife Seydyss Barreto, his children Alex Barreto and his wife Robyn Mizokawa from Irvine, CA, Vanessa Pepin and her husband Matt Pepin from Plaistow, NH, and Nick Barreto from Watertown. Remembered and missed by his grandchildren Kayla Barreto, Jack Pepin, Cassie Belle Pepin and Wyatt Mizokawa, along with his best friend Roberto Pardo from Hallandale, Fla.

Due to Covid, the funeral mass will be private, by-invite only. Facial masks and social distancing guidelines must be adhered. It will be held on Monday, November 2nd at 10 a.m. at St Luke the Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Rd, Plaistow, NH 03865. There will be no mourning; Hugo’s wish is for all to be in a colorful outfit.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to: Compassionate Care ALS, PO Box 1052, West Falmouth, MA 02574.
