Louis Adamian Runs the 2025 Boston Marathon

Louis Adamian Boston Marathon

I am running the 129th Boston marathon in honor of my dad, David who passed away from ALS this year. He was diagnosed with ALS three years ago. I moved home to be a close support my dad as the course of ALS progressed. I am a local university student studying computer science, and enjoy traveling, tinkering, scuba diving and sailing. I am privileged to be able to run for Compassionate Care ALS to support critical services. Many of you know that my dad, brother Nat, and I ran a 7-mile for CCALS race last summer. My Dad managed the course of this disease with an amazingly positive outlook. He was very physically active despite his ALS and continued to fence and run for over year and half after his diagnoses. He continued to do the things he loved, listening to music at home and out with friends and found new communication technology to stay connected with friends and family. His perseverance and stubbornness are why I am running. He motivated me to run the marathon last year and I am running again to honor him, and to support CCALS which helped us in many ways throughout the progression of his disease. Please help me raise essential funds for Compassionate Care ALS.

"David was always very sociable and easy to communicate with. We visited each other despite living in opposite sides of the country I have, in my mind, a vivid picture of David taking his socks and shoes off and walking into the Pacific Ocean water to get his feet wet the last time he was here in California. We will always remember David Christopher Adamian especially on December 18 because he shared his birthday with his cousin Christopher David Adamian. Early on, David discovered an interesting coincidence with their shared birthdays which he relayed to a few of us: Every 9 out of 10 years, both digits of their ages add up to the same number. As an example, on their last birthday on December 18, 2023, David was 58 and Christopher was 49 which worked out to 5+8=4+9. Too young to be taken away from us at age 58! No more suffering from ALS. Rest in peace, David. He is now with Russell and Mary."
