Eric W. Hansberry, of Hingham, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at the age of 72. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Mark and Melinda Hansberry of Hanover, N.H., Lynn and Larry Mayo of Hingham; grandchildren, Anna, Jared and Ethan Mayo and Lydia and Thomas Hansberry; and sister, Linda Friedlander of Maine.

Eric was a professor of engineering at Northeastern University. Through his life and love of teaching, he taught many that with knowledge and hard work, one could accomplish most anything. A man of endless talent, knowledge, generosity, humor and energy; he will be greatly missed.

Please join his family for an outdoor memorial service at the Hansberry home on Mayflower Road in Hingham, Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m. (rain/shine).
