Eva was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She was a dedicated volunteer for the annual parish Bazaar and also volunteered weekly at the Marie Rivier Adoration Chapel.

Her passions were spending time with her grandchildren, exercising and swimming at the Fitness & Wellness Center at Mount Wachusett Community College until the age of 95. Her dedication to keep in shape was always one of her hobbies, along with reading and playing her favorite game Rummikub. Eva was also an active supporter of the Gardner Food Bank held at Stop and Shop for many years.

She was preceded by her husband of 55 years, Ernest J. Melanson, who died in 1991; her daughter Norma A. Frigon who died in 2001; her son Donald D. Melanson who died in 2014; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; and eleven brothers and sisters.

Eva leaves three daughters; Anita M. Caisse and her husband Francis of Ashburnham, Doris M. Vienneau of Gardner, Donna D. Dion and her husband Wayne of Estero, FL; and special daughter-in-law, Claudette Melanson of Leominster. Eva also leaves ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
