Two long-standing members of the Falmouth Chamber of Commerce, New Balance Falmouth Road Race and the Captain Kidd Restaurant, partnered in February for one of the hottest Business After Hours ever. Over 100 members and guests converged on one of the town’s outstanding venues, 77 Water Street in Woods Hole to network and chase away the winter blues.
Christine Frazier, NBFRR Board President and Director of Sales and Marketing at Pine Hills Golf Club, briefly touched on the history and future of a road race. International recognition for Falmouth and years of philanthropic generosity underscore the many accomplishments and contributions the race brings to Falmouth. Christine graciously acknowledged those who work to keep the race in the forefront of America’s racing venues. The crack of the starter’s gun in front of the Captain Kidd on Sunday, August 14, will launch runners along the stunning seven mile ocean-front course for the 39th consecutive year.
Not to be overlooked, Maggie Crowley and the entire staff of the Captain Kidd went way-way over the top to welcome everyone to the spacious, yet seemingly cozy, waterfront dining room facilities. What an excellent dining and party venue. Their hospitality, the Murray’s eye for detail and staff’s friendly attention, ensured everyone was well cared for throughout the evening.
Our member, Compassionate Care ALS, was the featured non-profi t of the evening. Ron Hoffman, Executive Director, shared thought provoking remarks regarding the organizations mission that offers individualized support to ALS patients, families, and caregivers.
Member, Dave Carlson, W.C. Communications, provided the excellent sound system that made it possible for all the speakers to be heard. Matt Auger shared the 50/50 raffle winnings with CCALS, while members, Joanne Bayles, Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, and Mark and Linda Morin, Main Street Barber Shop, took away business card drawing gifts.
Save the date, Thursday, March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day!) for our next great Business After Hours, hosted by The Black Dog, 214 Main Street, Falmouth. Visit the Falmouth Chamber website, www.falmouthchamber.com for more information.
