Ronald John Tracz, 73, of North Branford, passed away on August 3, 2026 at Connecticut Hospice after a private battle with bulbar ALS.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut to John and Henrietta Tracz, Ron was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and King’s College. He dedicated 41 years of his career to the Knights of Columbus, where he formed many lasting friendships throughout the country and in Poland before retiring.
A longtime resident of North Branford, Ron devoted much of his life to serving others. For more than 45 years, he was a familiar face on local sidelines as a player, coach, volunteer, and enthusiastic supporter of youth sports. He was known for welcoming those who were away from their families to join holidays and celebrations, for his impeccable handwriting, and for enjoying a good round of golf.
Above all, Ron was devoted to his family. He shared 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Ann, and will be deeply missed by his children, Elizabeth (John), Maura (Matt), Craig (Melanie), Christopher (Katie), and Kyle (Kelly), as well as his thirteen cherished grandchildren Weldon, Nathan, Alice, Isla, Tanner, Bennett, Parker, Hudson, Taylor, Carter, Quinn, Mila and Ava. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Barbara Hodsdon, and many extended family members and dear friends.
Ron will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his love of sports, his commitment to his community, and the countless lives he touched through simple acts of kindness and service.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Ron throughout his illness and for the exceptional care and compassion shown to him and to all who loved him.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 10 from 3 to 7pm at Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd, North Branford, CT. Family and friends are invited to go directly to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 11 at 10am at St. Stanislaus Church, 9 Eld St, New Haven, CT. Internment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, as he was very allergic, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Compassionate Care ALS.
