David Joseph Lemanski, beloved husband of Nita Gordon Lemanski, beloved father of April Mavis Jorge (Matt Jorge), Natalie Jewel Lemanski (Conor Thomas), Bethany Lemanski Casarez (Carlos Casarez), and beloved grandpa to Arianna and Madelyn Jorge, and Ezra and Adrianne Casarez, left this earth after a long struggle with ALS on July 5, 2026. He was also beloved brother to five siblings, several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews.

David was also a surrogate father/role model to many family friends and relatives. David was born on October 11, 1953, in Jersey City, NJ. He grew up in Maryland but spent several years helping to take care of his grandchildren, which involved traveling between Gaithersburg, MD, Medford, MA, and Santa Clara, CA. He spent the last 2 years living in Medford, MA. He studied computer science at the University of Maryland, College Park, and retired as a data systems analyst from AstraZeneca in 2019.

David was an avid skier, a passionate builder, and a diehard DIYer, fixing everything from plumbing, electrical, mechanical, drywall, flooring, painting, and auto mechanics. David was highly intelligent, kind, selfless, and generous. He gave tirelessly of his time and expertise, helping countless family members, friends, and neighbors with everything from home repairs and cross-country moves to late-night airport pickups. He was a nurturing caregiver who had a special gift for bringing joy and laughter to children. Above all, he was devoted to his family. He will be sorely missed.

It has been requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Compassionate Care ALS, P.O. Box 1052, West Falmouth, MA 02574 or CCALS.org.
