Through our education series and gatherings we offer specialized insights for healthcare professionals gleaned from our years of experience caring for ALS patients in all stages of the disease. These workshops are designed to help providers practice communication and empathy skills to improve caregiver/patient relations. The ever-changing nature of ALS symptoms makes this especially important. Our workshops give health care professionals a chance to take the time to consider the ALS dynamics in depth and improve ALS patients’ lives by improving the knowledge, skills, and techniques of their caregivers.
We regularly partner with both Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center as well as many hospice and healthcare agencies. Our partnership provides us in with access to doctors, nurses and other hospital personnel to provide training in end-of-life care. We work with all team members together to improve end-of-life care and staff relationships with families.
